STEVE is a visual artist and a poet.
He earned a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1993. He received a Frances Hook Scholarship Grant for painting in 1993. His artist collective, The Fantastic Nobodies, merges conceptual art and poetry to create provocative performance theatre. The collective is represented by Andrew Edlin Gallery in New York City. His work has been exhibited in England, The Czech Republic, Germany, Chile, and The United States.
He has worked with the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, The New York Public Library and The Nassau County Museum in art exhibition and conservation. He served as the Enrichment Director for E.C. Montessori School in Beaufort, S.C. for 5 years, where he implemented a progressive range of outdoor education programs including a working garden, chicken and goat husbandry, and courses in poetry and painting. He has worked as a Writing and Biology tutor and as Career/Transfer coordinator for Student Support Services at The Technical College of the Lowcountry, where he counseled students academically providing a wide range of workshops.
He lives with his wife and son in Santiago de Chile.
